Benjamin Keough, Grandson of Elvis Presley, Dies at Age 27


Benjamin Keough, son of Lisa Marie Presley, and Elvis and Priscilla Presley’s grandson, has passed away at age 27. The cause of death is being ruled a suicide from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Roger Widynowski, Lisa Marie’s representative,




 confirmed the tragic news and told the Hollywood Reporter, "She is completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter, Riley. She adored that boy. He was the love of her life.” Benjamin also had a sister named Riley Keough, who is a model, actress, and producer. Lisa and Benjamin’s dad, Danny Keough, divorced back in 1994. The young man was discovered in his home in Calabasas, California, on July 12. many Elvis fans recently commented on Benjamin’s strong resemblance to his grandfather, after Lisa Marie shared a photo showing all of her children. The mom agreed that her son bore a strong resemblance to her famous father. In 2012, Lisa Marie even talked about the strong family genes, telling CMT:


 
"Ben does look so much like Elvis. He was at the Opry and was the quiet storm behind the stage. Everybody turned around and looked when he was over there. Everybody was grabbing him for a photo because it is just uncanny.”


Lisa Marie even wrote and released a song about Ben in 2012 titled, "Storm and Grace,” which included the lyrics:

 
"Stop moving so fast there, and then take your foot off the gas. My heart can’t seem to take it, your storm and your grace.”

So far, the family has yet to release an official statement, none of Benjamin’s extended family or siblings have commented about his death. Benjamen was last seen in public when he attended the 40th anniversary of his grandfather’s death at Graceland.
