Over the years, we have seen Owen Wilson play a father in the movies many times. He tends to be more of a goofy dad when he plays the role in the movies but he is a very lovable person when it comes to the roles that he plays. Even when he doesn’t play a father, he sometimes has to interact with kids and it always seems as if he does so while making them happy to the extreme degree. Although that may be true for Owen Wilson in the movies, it seems as if he is quite a different person when it comes to his real-life fatherly instincts.
Over the years, we have been watching Owen Wilson playing the father in movies but it seems as if his home life is a lot different. In fact, he is scrutinized many times because he has never seen his only daughter, and he has never seen her since the time that she was born. He did have two sons, Robert Ford that was born to Jade Duell, and Finn, who was born to Caroline Lindqvist. It seems as if he does okay when it comes to spending time with his sons and he is a big part of their lives. When he found out that his ex-girlfriend, Varunie Vongsvirates was pregnant and it was his child, he distanced himself and even avoided contact with both the mother and the daughter.
Wilson was in a relationship with Vongsvirates for about five years, although it was on and off during that time. He took some steps to make sure that she couldn’t get in touch with him after he found out she was pregnant with his child, including changing his phone number!
Vongsvirates was excited that she was having Wilson’s child because she thought that he would be a great father. After all, he was good with his two sons and she said: “He will be a great dad, because he’s an incredible dad with his other two children.”
That was before she realized that he didn’t want to have anything to do with her or his daughter. The daughter, Lyla Aranya Wilson is growing up without a father figure in her life. It will also be traumatizing because you often see Owen Wilson with his sons.
“When Varunie told Owen she was pregnant, he was not happy about it, and that was the last time they ever spoke,” a source said. “He changed his phone number. He’s never met his daughter and then he gave no heads up that he was changing his number.”
The fact that Wilson was the father was confirmed with a paternity test according to a source who spoke to
Us Weekly. They said: “Of course if a paternity test establishes that he is the father of another child, he will fulfill all of his obligations to support his child.”
Considering the fact that Owen Wilson hasn’t met his daughter since she was born on October 9, 2018, he is sure to be scrutinized and criticized. He does give over money to help support her, but that isn’t enough.
Even though it was proven that he was the little girl’s father by a paternity test, he still wasn’t sure that she was his child. Every month, he sends $25,000 for the child he hasn’t met and he covered the cost of a labor coach, night nurse, and legal fees of some $70,000.
“He even checked the no visitation box in court in June…” a source told Us Weekly in 2018. “He does not want to visit [and does not] want any custody of her.”
The mother wants Wilson to be a part of the daughter’s life and she is heartbroken when she sees him with his other sons. “Owen has been a great father to his two boys and has maintained a warm and close relationship with their mothers,” a source shared.
“Owen has never met Lyla. Never,” Vongsvirates told
DailyMail.com. “He helps financially but it’s never been about that. Lyla needs a father. It’s ironic how [Owen] keeps getting these father roles, he’s playing a father in his new movie, and he’s never met his own daughter.”
Vongsvirates did have a message for Wilson, “You should see your daughter, she’s incredible, you’re really missing out. She looks just like you.”
Vongsvirates understands the importance of having family because her mother passed away when she was fairly young. According to an insider who spoke with
RadarOnline.com. “She just wants her daughter to have a normal life. It didn’t work out between the two of them – that happens – but to abandon his child is rude and wrong.”
