I love the Millennial generation. They’re a group of young people who have so much hope and resilience. They’re going to do great things. In fact, they’re probably going to save the world. They’re going to have to because previous generations have left them a mess to clean up. With all that said, there’s a reality that can’t be ignored. Like every generation prior to them, the Millennial generation has its share of jerks. Some of these jerks are having to learn the hard way how life (and the law) works. A young Miami woman recently did something that’s hard to imagine young people in previous generations doing. She disrespected a judge in a court of law.
Meet Penelope. Penelope is an 18-year-old woman from Miami who didn’t show the court the respect that it’s due. In fact, she did something really stupid. She thought it would be cool to flip the bird to the judge. Yeah, the judge who was presiding over her case. But she did that only after she told him, “Adios!” (goodbye in Spanish). The judge, who speaks with a slight accent, may be Latino, and Penelope seems to have picked up on that and responded with a petulant “Adios” when the judge told her “Goodbye.” Incredibly, she did all of this while she was wearing orange, the clothing that convicts wear when they’re in jail.
At first, the judge was patient with her. She was giggling and laughing while he was asking her the value of her jewelry, and seemed just completely disrespectful. However, when he dismissed her with a $5,000 fine and told her “Bye Bye,” she walked away, saying, “Adios!”. The judge seemed to be aggravated by this and asked her to come back, increasing the fine to $10,000. At this, Penelope was aghast. She walked away, flipping the judge off and apparently said “fuck” him or something to that effect. The judge called her back again and said that he was holding her in contempt of court and sentenced her to 30 days in jail. And that, my friends, is how it works in a court of law. Hopefully, Penelope learned a lesson.
Apparently, Penelope is a little rich girl whose parents taught her the value of her jewelry but didn’t bother to teach her the value of being a decent human being. Watch this shocking video below.
