Celine Dion Is Joined On Stage By Elvis Presley Thanks To The Miracle Of Technology

If time machines were a reality, out of all the things we would do with them, perhaps the first thing that most would do is go back in time to see some of their favorite entertainers. And for those in the music industry, going back in time to work with their music icons would be at the top of their list. I mean, what comic wouldn’t love to do a movie with Richard Pryor? And for boxers, what heavyweight champion would love to opportunity to test their skill against a prime Muhammad Ali? The list goes on and on when it comes to great people who celebrities would love to meet and work with. But for Celine Dion,  in 2007, she had a chance to step into a time machine (figuratively) thanks to the clever use of computer technology and perform with one of music’s greatest icons, the king of rock and roll, Elvis Presley. It was for a particular segment for that year’s season of American Idol, where fans in the live audience hit the roof when Celine walked out with Presley onto the idol stage and performed is 1968 hit “If I Can Dream.” Interestingly, Dion was also born that year. This was all thanks to some fantastic hologram technology that projected the king’s image right onto the idol stage as though he was really there! He looked so real, even from all the different camera angles, it was enough to send chills and goosebumps all over! You can watch Celine and Elvis performing together in the video below.
