In our world, there are certain things that just go together, such as peanut butter and chocolate or rainy days and a good book. We find many examples of perfect relationships in our lives, but there are also times when we should recognize that not everything works well together. One of the best examples of this would be little children and scissors. Allowing children to handle dangerous sharp objects is a bad idea for obvious reasons. Not only does this create a dangerous situation, but it can also produce a lot of frustration on the part of the parents, as you’re about to learn from this story.
Most of us have a story or know of a story concerning someone from our childhood who got hold of a pair of scissors and tried to cut their own hair. From a child’s point of view, this probably seems like a perfectly rational idea at the time. After all, it doesn’t look that hard, right? But as the results show, the outcomes of these DIY haircuts are rarely good. And then there is the look on a parent’s face when they discover what their child has done to their hair. Let’s just say that it’s safe to assume going out for ice cream sundaes are usually off the table at that point.
As a parent, I’ve always done my best to keep objects, like scissors and knives, out of reach. It’s excellent advice, to say the least. Recently, Jen Bullock, a hairdresser from Ohio, shared a story and a few pictures from a house call she recently made for a little girl.
Her friend, Breanna, called her in a panic one day when her three-year-old son gave Kimber, his sister, a DIY haircut.
Breanna first realized something was wrong when her children had become far too quiet. She searched for them and came across the pair in a closet that he had turned into his very own salon while hard at work, giving his sister a brand new look.
The mom found the situation funny but knew that she needed to do something fast to fix it. So she called Jen.
I would venture to say that this qualified as what people call a “hair emergency.” Just take a look at her son’s handiwork and judge for yourself.
Her brother was able to remove a significant portion of his sister’s hair on one side of her head. Jen began thinking about how she could turn this into a more moderate hairstyle.
It seems as if the little girl’s brother may have made her a bit of a favor because it wasn’t too far off from a current style.
Before long, Kimber’s hair was transformed into a stunning Asymmetrical pixie cut.
I think the transformation was fantastic. She kind of resembles pink.
This happens to be a very popular style with celebrities these days. Just take a look at Pink and see the resemblance for yourself.
I would say that Kimber and Pink both rock their hairdos! Even Pink’s daughter recently got a new look.
She may have begun a trend because when Jen shared the pictures on Facebook, the story went viral in an instant.
Parents also shared their children’s DIY haircut experiences.
Not all parents experienced the same level of success with the same look. Some folks reminisced about what happened when they were toddlers.
I’m positive that many households have these types of pictures hidden away somewhere. Most folks who saw this story were probably very pleased to see a happy ending.
This should serve as a lesson to parents. While we can’t keep an eye on our children 24/7, if things are a bit too quiet, it doesn’t hurt to be a bit suspicious and see what they might be up to.
