A Frontier Airlines Airbus A320 (registration N365FR) was involved in a ground incident at Charlotte Douglas International Airport on August 16, 2025, resulting in significant travel disruptions. During pre-departure preparations, a ground air-conditioning hose was reportedly ingested into the aircraft’s #1 engine, causing damage and taking the plane out of service.
The affected flight, F93134, which was scheduled to operate from Charlotte to New York’s LaGuardia Airport, experienced a delay of approximately nine hours. Passengers were eventually rebooked onto a replacement aircraft to complete their travel.
The aircraft had arrived earlier that morning from Philadelphia. While ground crews prepared for the next departure, the engine’s suction inadvertently pulled in the nearby hose. Crews responded promptly, and the plane was removed from service for inspection and maintenance. There were no injuries reported.
The aircraft involved was an Airbus A320-251N, not an A321 as initially speculated. First flown in June 2019, the jet was approximately 5.7 years old and powered by two CFMI LEAP-1A26 engines.
Though the event caused considerable delays, it underscores the critical importance of strict safety protocols on the ramp. Airport and airline personnel followed standard procedures to secure the aircraft and prioritize the safety of passengers and crew throughout the incident.
