Our minds have an uncanny ability to notice when even the smallest things are out of place. We seem to have a built-in "autocorrect” function in our minds. However, this usually takes place in our subconscious first, leaving our conscious mind to catch up. The amount of time between when the conscious mind sees what the subconscious mind picks up almost instantly can vary.
Sometimes it can be a matter of seconds or minutes. However, for some, it can take days, months, years, or never. Bridging the gap between what we observe in our brain’s background and what we notice in the foreground can take practice, and it’s a skill that seasoned detectives practice.
But spotting something out of place isn’t always easy, especially when what we are looking for is hiding in plain sight. Below are several vision puzzles that have a single letter out of place. Test your observation powers by timing just how long it takes you to spot the odd letter in each. However, we should warn you; they get tougher as you move down the list.
