Man Calls Out Into Empty Field
Do you have a pet in your home? Whether it’s a dog or a cat, they become a full-fledged member of the family very quickly. The bond that develops between a human and an animal is unmistakable and sometimes, they may even be closer to us than some human members of the family. There is nothing that we want more than to see our beloved pet after a difficult day or even when we’ve had a good day. They are there by our side through thick and thin.
A man by the name of Darrick also knows how close you can get to an animal but he doesn’t have a dog or a cat in this video. Rather, he lives in Thailand and works at the Elephant Nature Park. All of the elephants at the park are special to him but there is one particular elephant, Kham La and they have bonded very closely. When the elephant hears him calling, she comes running immediately. That is what this video shows and you’re going to be amazed with how it works.
Darrick works as a volunteer at the park so he takes his time to watch the elephants as they are in their natural habitat. He has a relationship of trust with many of the elephants and enjoys a lot of closeness and playtime.
Kham La is the elephant that has grown closest to him and she loves her human friend completely. When she is with the rest of the herd and hears him calling, she gets absolutely excited. All of the elephants run to him without delay.
Watching a large herd of elephants running toward a man can be a little bit frightening but when you realize how gentle they are, you see how he is able to stand in front of them without moving.
It is true that these elephants are wild animals but they treat the human companion as if he is a member of the herd.
According to the Elephant World website, it isn’t all that unusual to see this type of interaction.
“There are some heroic stories as well of elephants stepping in to help humans. It can be to protect them from animals including other elephants at times. They have been able to help them when natural disasters occur, moving heavy items to get to people and to rescue them.
Most researchers aren’t surprised by these acts at all though. This is because the elephant is well known for being intelligent and capable of experiencing the same emotions as humans.”
