Officer Tells Woman To Pop The Trunk
Although we may experience many different types of frustrations in life, one of the ones that tend to get us more than any other is getting pulled over by the cops. We might be driving along, thinking as if everything is okay in the world and suddenly, we see the blue lights in our mirror and we know that our day is about to get much worse. It starts out as a frustrating experience and then it ends with us having to pay a big fine. As you are about to see, however, things don’t always turn out that way.
Chy-Niece was on her way to a job interview when she had such an experience. She saw the blue lights flashing and suddenly, she realized that she was being pulled over. Although she was already stressed because of going to the interview, she was now getting even more stressed. She wasn’t driving fast and she was using her turn signals so she had no idea why the policeman was pulling her over.
When he came up to the vehicle and she rolled down her window, she already had her driver’s license and registration ready. He wanted to see them but he had something else on his mind and she had to share it online.
Officer Jenkins was not threatening or aggressive when he came up to the window. He just explained to her calmly that she had a brake light out. That was stressful enough but the good news is, she didn’t have to shell out money for a repair or pay a fine.
The officer did something special for her.
She shared her experience on Facebook:
“So this happened just now. I’m on my way to go to my interview this morning when I get pulled. Both brake lights decided to go out this time. As he walked to the car and I was pulling out my stuff, he quickly said…”
“Don’t worry about pulling anything out. I just want you to know your brake lights are out”
“So I’m immediately upset because I just got them replaced last month. So I explained to him how Firestone wants to charge me $600 just to run a test on the wiring of the car.”
“He looked at me (like he knew this was crazy) and told me to pop the trunk…”
“He checked the lights in the trunk and tapped them, but they didn’t come on. So he told me to pop the hood to check the relay box then asked me to get out to check the other one.”
“He could have easily given me a ticket, but Officer Jenkins stepped out of officer role and into mechanic role to make sure I was straight.”
We see a lot of stressful things happening in the world around us but sometimes it’s nice to realize that there are good things that happen as well. Take some time to be kind to others and you never know when it will come back to you.
This officer did something wonderful. He had the opportunity to ruin somebody’s day but he decided to make her smile instead. As you can imagine, this story has gone viral on Facebook.
