Passengers Freeze In Their Tracks After Hearing Subway Singer Perform Haunting Version of ‘Unchained Melody’


New York subway commuters are accustoming to hearing lots of musical acts during their daily commutes in the subway. This often means that catching the attention of passengers rushing to their destinations can be a difficult task, even for some of the best performers.



 Indeed, an artist has to have something very special to get noticed in the hustle and bustle of a New York subway! Well, a few lucky commuters were treated to a performance that literally made folks stop in their tracks and turn around to find out who it was behind such an amazing voice. The man behind the voice was a singer named Mike Yung. If that name sounds familiar, Mike was once a very popular contestant on America’s got talent in 2017.



 During the show, he made it all the way up to the semifinal round. Before his big break on the show, he had once been signed to a label owned by producer and writer Teddy Van. However, the company went under before he ever had a chance to record his first album. According to TVOM, that’s when Mike decided to take his act to the subways of New York City. And 37 years later, Mike’s still putting on incredible performances for busy commuters.

 




Back in 2016, a year before his big break on America’s Got Talent; Mike was singing "Unchained Melody, one day during his subway performance. And once folks heard Mike’s deep, rich voice, they just had to stop and listen. Mike Yung is definitely star material, and it’s amazing that New York has kept him a secret this long!
