A moment of rest between a father and his two-month-old baby ended in tragedy in Anápolis, about 55 kilometers from Goiânia. The infant died after falling from his father’s arms when the exhausted parent fell asleep while holding him. The heartbreaking incident is now under investigation by the Civil Police.
The accident occurred in the early hours of Monday in the Jardim das Américas 2nd Stage neighborhood. According to the father’s account to authorities, he fell asleep while cradling his son, leading to the fatal fall. When the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) arrived, responders could only confirm the baby had already died.
The case was reported by the Forensic Medical Institute (IML), which notified the Military Police. The investigation is proceeding carefully, with authorities interviewing family members and witnesses to piece together what happened.
