Retired Actress Found Dead In Her LA Home After It Burned To The Ground

The wildfires ravaging Los Angeles have claimed far too many lives, and tragically, the death toll continues to rise. Among the victims are individuals from all walks of life, including some who were widely recognized due to their celebrity status.

So far, at least 25 people have lost their lives as a result of the devastating fires. Many of these victims were unable to escape the rapidly spreading flames. One such victim was a beloved woman whose life was tragically cut short when she was found deceased in her home.

Dalyce Curry, a 95-year-old woman affectionately known as "Momma D” by her family, perished when the Eaton Fire engulfed her property north of Los Angeles. The heartbreaking news was shared on social media by her family.

Curry was not only cherished by her loved ones but was also familiar to many through her work as a Hollywood extra. She appeared in several iconic films, including *The Ten Commandments*, *The Blues Brothers*, and *Lady Sings the Blues*.

First responders discovered her remains at her home on Sunday evening. The news was later confirmed by her great-granddaughter, Dalyce Kelley, who shared the tragic update on social media. Kelley, who had been Curry’s caregiver, had last seen her great-grandmother just days earlier when she brought her home from the hospital.

Describing the scene, Kelley said it was nothing short of apocalyptic. The property was completely destroyed, reduced to ashes. "About an hour ago, the coroner confirmed her remains were found at the property,” Kelley shared. "It was total devastation. Everything was gone except her blue Cadillac.”

Kelley also posted videos showcasing the extent of the destruction to the California property. It took days for the family to sift through the wreckage, clinging to hope that Curry might have survived. However, the devastation was overwhelming and absolute.

Our hearts go out to Curry’s family during this unimaginably difficult time. May she rest in peace, and may her loved ones find strength and solace in the days ahead.
