Sweet 5-Year-Old Little Girl Places Adorable 911 Call That Saves Her Dad’s Life

For parents, it’s very important that we teach our children how to use 911 at an early age. Many parents make the mistake of thinking their children are not smart or sophisticated enough to use the service. However, they are putting themselves and their children at risk with this misconception. Children taught how to use 911 can be the difference sometimes between life and death. Such was the case for a five-year-old little girl named Savannah, who had to make a 911 call when her dad was having trouble breathing. The two were at their home one evening in Hancock County, Indiana, when the incident happened. Savannah was able to get 911 operator Jason Bonham on the phone. Right off the bat, Jason went about assuring the little girl that everything was going to be okay and that help was coming. Savannah served as a go-between for her father and Jason while the operator asked the little girl and her father certain questions. At one point, Savannah became aware that they were about to have visitors and became self-conscious about the fact that both she and her dad were still in their "jammies.” Jason advises the child to stay close to her dad, but she wants to go change, concerned about the prospect of welcoming visitors into their home in her pajamas. She also politely introduces their family dog to Jason, who she describes as "Friendly, but barks a lot.” As you listen to this absolutely adorable conversation, you can really appreciate the incredible job the little girl did that day. She was able to stay calm during a very stressful situation and give the operator the information he needed to save her father’s life. Not to mention, she gave everyone a nice big heartwarming laugh in the process! You can listen to Savannah’s adorably hilarious 911 call in the video below.
