The loss of a loved one is always challenging to endure, and when it happens unexpectedly, it can take time to process and come to terms with the reality. This is the heartbreak currently faced by Matt "Dixie” Dix, known for his role on the popular network series *Maine Cabin Masters*, as he mourns the sudden passing of his wife, Ginna Dix. She was just 48 years old when she died on February 1, 2025.
The cause of her death has not been disclosed in her obituary, though it noted that she "died unexpectedly.” The official Instagram page for *Maine Cabin Masters* shared the news, stating: "Beloved wife of Dixie, Goddaughter to Ryan’s parents, and a friend to so many. Ginna was a huge part of the *Maine Cabin Masters* family and will be deeply missed.”
Ryan Eldridge, a longtime friend of Matt and Ginna and a fellow star of the show, paid tribute to Ginna on Instagram. Alongside a photo of the two of them and a childhood picture, he wrote: "We were born on the same day, two years apart. Our parents were best friends, and you married my best friend.” Ryan also shared fond memories of their childhood, adding, "You’ve been a big part of my life since day one. You left this world far too soon, but you made a lasting impact in your short time. I love you, Gin!”
Ginna was an accomplished individual with a passion for sports and healthcare. During her high school years, she excelled in basketball and field hockey. She later pursued a career in nursing, earning her degree in 2000. She and Matt married in 2001, and Ginna continued her education, obtaining a Master of Science in Nursing from Purdue University in 2018. She worked as a nurse practitioner at the Harold Alfond Center and MaineHealth Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.
Ginna was known for her love of the beach, her cherished dogs, and the joy she found in spending time with her family and friends. Her passing has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved her.
Her family has asked for privacy as they navigate this difficult time. May Ginna rest in peace.
